Jeremy Meeks: Foxy Felon Makes An Appearance At The BET Awards

The mugshot of Jeremy Meeks, a 30-year-old felon who was arrested for charges of “street terrorism,” among other things, went viral on June 18 following his arrest due to his admittedly strikingly good looks. However, while you’d think that his fame would have run out by now, you’d be wrong — he was signed a few days ago by agent Gina Rodriguez, and at the BET Awards on June 29, he made an appearance in a huge — and hilarious — way, thanks to stars Gabrielle Union and Regina Hall!
Gabrielle and Regina hit the Nokia Theater stage to present the first award of the night for Best New Artist, but their onstage banter revolved around Jeremy Meeks. “Ladies, we need to talk,” Gabrielle told the crowd. “Y’all are obsessed with this dude. I mean, for real. A criminal? This picture was posted on a police department Facebook page. My question is: who in the hell is looking for a date on a police department Facebook page?!” She makes a good point.
“It’s true, ladies, I mean, for real. What’s next? Speed dating in a police lineup?” Regina added, to which Gabrielle fired back: “Escaping in to prison to find a man?” “Going on Scared Straight to find a date? Asking your girl to hook you up with blind conjugal visits?”

Gabrielle Union: ‘What Did Prison Bae Give Us?’
An exasperated Gabrielle asked the audience, “Where were y’all when Bobby Brown went to jail? At least he gave us ‘My Prerogative!’ What did Prison Bae give us?”
“Well, crystal clear blue eyes,” Regina admitted. “Creamy light skin. Chiseled cheekbones. I guess orange is the new black!”
August Alsina would go on to win Best New Artist, but we all know who the real winner is — Jeremy Meeks, because two hot ladies talked about him on television in front of millions of people. JK, though, he’s going to be in jail forever.

Keira Knightley Rocks 2 Looks In 1 Day While Promoting ‘Begin Again’

Keira Knightley, 29, donned multiple gorgeous looks to promote her newest movie Begin Again on June 26. She was spotted both on her way to The Daily Show and on the red carpet of the premiere looking as lovely as ever in two Versace dresses. In the movie, she plays the role of an aspiring singer, and both of these looks hit just the right note!
Keira Knightley’s Outfits
Her day started off with Jon Stewart as she filmed an appearance on The Daily Show in a white cotton ankle-length dress. The eyelet and flower details were absolutely beautiful on the star and totally appropriate for summer! We loved the unique length on her, and the modish neckline flattered her narrow shoulders so well! Her silver pumps dressed the look up a bit, but it would have been just as lovely in flats for a more casual occasion.
Later that day, Keira took the red carpet in another elegant gown! The color was gorgeous against her olive skin, and the mesh showed off Keira’s summer glow, not to mention her great arms. The metallic bird details popped against the navy fabric, and really brought the look to life!
Keira proved that you don’t have to show it all to be extremely sexy on the red carpet, and we love how classy she looked!

Dressing Frankie Valli: How the 'Jersey Boys' Got Their Suits

Similar to the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit of the same name, Clint Eastwood's film adaptation of Jersey Boys sees a great deal of matching suits. Designing the movie's identical performance outfits for The Four Seasons — Frankie Valli (played by John Lloyd Young), Tommy DeVito (Vincent Piazza), Nick Massi (Michael Lomenda) and Bob Gaudio (Erich Bergen) — was Deborah Hopper, who has worked on 16 films with Eastwood since the early 1980s, including Gran Torino and Million Dollar Baby.
Before starting work on the designs, Hopper referred to the original band to help with her creativity process. "A lot of the research came from the different album covers from The Four Seasons, which, you know, always showed pictures of the four guys," Hopper tells Pret-a-Reporter. A few key pieces she designed include a '70s corduroy suit that the real Frankie Valli used to wear to the studio; the burgundy blazers the boys wear during their American Bandstand performance — and every single bow tie. "There was a CD set from The Four Seasons that actually showed them performing, so that was very helpful. I also did a lot of research at Western Costume Company's library, as well."
Not only did the legendary costume company, located in North Hollywood, help with Hopper's research, it also provided one of the most popular garments in the film: classic cardigans reminiscent of the '50s and '60s. "Like [when they're] at the Ohio State Fair [in the film], they wore matching cardigans and sweaters with a suede and mock turtle," notes the designer. Aside from pulling from Western Costume, she says, "We scoured everywhere to look for enough clothing for the movie. I think we dressed around 3,000 to 4,000 people, with all the performing and audiences."
Hopper, who didn't borrow any pieces from the Broadway show for the film, says she spent about two and a half months doing prep and design. Since she's been collaborating with Eastwood for more than two decades, Hopper didn't have any trouble getting his approval on the costumes. "At this point, we've worked together for so long, so yes, he gives me a lot of freedom," she says with a laugh. Given that Eastwood wore the group's maroon jacket to the film's premiere during Los Angeles Film Festival's closing night on Thursday, we can see what she means.
Catch Jersey Boys in theaters now. And be ready to sing along to a tune (or two).

Demi Lovato Gets Dreadlocks: Love Or Loathe Her New Haircut?

Demi Lovato, 21, is NOT the kind of girl who follows the trends — she creates them! Demi debuted gorgeous purple ombre hair at her June 16 concert at the Hollywood Bowl, but now the “Really Don’t Care” singer has taken her look even further. Do you give her wild new ‘do a thumbs up or thumbs down?
Demi Lovato Gets Dreadlocks: Are You A Fan?
It’s officially summertime, and Demi’s feeling more confident then ever — so why not switch up her look? The singer not only showed off her purple and teal dreadlocks in her selfie, she also showed off that she buzzed part of the left side of her head!
In the pic, Demi smirks, tilts her sunglasses down to show off her gorgeous eyes and shows off tons of chunky jewelry! While Demi definitely dyed and styled her new look, it doesn’t seem like she cut her hair (aside from the buzzed portion) — her long locks still reach past her shoulders.
Demi Lovato Dreadlocks Photo
Demi’s the first female star we’ve seen go full-out with multi-colored dreadlocks. Actress Bella Thorne rocked dreads at a Nintendo event at Quixote Studios in Los Angeles on March 9, but her colorful creations were just temporary. Considering Demi has a buzz-cut on one side of her head, we think it’s safe to safe her dramatic hair change is drastic!
Demi Lovato Shows Off Poolside Bikini Picture
We love Demi for getting a crazy cut that she wants and not worrying what the haters will say. And why not? The singer has been embracing her healthier lifestyle — and she’s looking better than ever! Demi even posted a poolside bikini pic with the caption, “Summertime” on June 17. After everything Demi’s been through during the past couple of years, it’s so nice to see her happy and healthy.

Street Style: Try The Animal-Print Mash-Up

If you haven’t already rushed out to buy this week’s copy of LOOK, then we can only assume that firstly, you’ve been busy as no other excuse will do, and secondly, that you haven’t yet spotted the new way to wear your animal prints.
One lady who has clearly picked up her mag, however, is Sophia, who we noticed rocking a triple leopard hit in a Forever 21 jumper and River Island pencil skirt. She then accessorised to make it a hat trick with a New Look clutch.
While we admire her more is more mantra, Sophia also knows that to avoid looking like you’ve fallen into Mel B’s Spice Girls wardrobe, it’s important to select pieces in different colours with subtly different prints and classic accessories (see her heeled Zara loafers).
Mash up your animal prints for savvy street style
On the other hand, you could opt for a more literal approach to animal prints à la Naomi, who is channelling the spirit of Diane Von Furstenberg’s SS14 catwalk in her Hearts & Bows giraffe-print playsuit. Being a canny sort of style guru, she has layered this over a blue Boohoo shirt and then added the pièce de résistance – her leopard maxi kimono (also from Boohoo). With the additions of her Boohoo hat and New Look cage sandals, this look can't be described as anything but safari chic. Yep, we said it.
So what are you waiting for? Don’t be timid – pile on your animal prints and strut to the shops to buy that LOOK mag you haven’t got yet.

MMVA 2014: 30 photos of all the best dressed action from last night’s red carpet and show

You know the Much Music Video Awards are in town when Queen Street shuts down for Toronto’s biggest music party of the summer. With a standout lineup of international musicians and Kendall and Kylie Jenner flub-less hosting, there was no doubt MMVA 2014 is becoming a must-watch music award show in the industry. Between the pajama-clad Marianas Trench literally rolling onto the red carpet and Ed Sheeran handing out free food, Toronto’s hottest show was bigger and better than ever.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner proved they were the front-runners of last night’s best-dressed list with the two changing into three eye-catching outfits for the two-hour show. However, leave it to the Kardashians Jenners to know how to get heads turning on the red carpet. While the younger of the two siblings was dressed in a bedazzling orange mini dress, Kendall upped Angelina Jolie’s infamous right leg at the 2012 Oscars, shocking the fans in a Fausto Puglisi dress with slits that went well past her thighs, exposing hip bone. Thanks to the beautiful weather and possibly rolls of double-sided tape, there were no wardrobe malfunctions.
Many of Hollywood’s young up and coming stars also showed up on the red carpet. In town to host Annabelle’s launch party last week, Shenae Grimes and Josh Beech proved why they are one of the cutest couples, stepping out in matching outfits complete with black and white platform shoes. Chloe Grace Moretz may have expressed her love for all things Chanel in Cannes, but for last night’s event, the young starlet opted for a black lace sleeveless dress by Marios Schwab that was both fun and elegant for the occasion. While Mad Men’s youngest actress Kiernan Shipka was pretty in pink in a strapless Marni dress, the colour blue seemed to be a trend on the red carpet. The Hunger Games actress Jena Malone showed off her toned physique in a navy crop-top and mini skirt ensemble by Paper London, while Canadian actress Laura Vandervoort worked this season’s pastel trend in a baby blue sequined dress.
MMVA 2014 Red Carpet
The red carpet may have been a must-see, but the main event of the night proved why it was the hottest event in Toronto with talented musicians turning up the heat with their electrifying performances. Winning the International Video of the Year-Group, Imagine Dragons literally lit up the show sending fireworks up into the sky as they sang their hits “Demon” and “Radioactive.” Picking up two coveted awards (Video of the Year and Pop Video of the Year), Hedley got the city singing and dancing to their energetic performance of “Crazy Into You.” While Drake may have been a big winner of the night winning the International Video of The Year by Canadian, the rapper didn’t attend last night’s festivities. It was no surprise to see our May cover girl Lorde bringing home the International Video of the Year Artist. Opting for a colour, albeit still dark, the New Zealand-bred singer/songwriter rocked out “Team” and “Tennis Court” in an eggplant purple suit. Although there was a close call with Ariana Grande‘s performance when she nearly got pulled into the enthusiastic crowd, the young singer closed the show with a bang singing her hot single “Problem.”

The week in celebrity style: See who made our top 10 best dressed

With many celebrities dressed to the nines in metallic numbers on the red carpet, this week A-list stars needed no assistance from photographers’ flashing bulbs to shine. Bringing you oodles of wardrobe inspiration for those who have invitations to glam events this upcoming weekend, we round up our top 10 best-dressed celebs from this past week.
Net-A-Porter hosted an intimate dinner reception earlier this week in honour of Victoria Beckham to celebrate the launch of the Victoria, Victoria Beckham Fall 2014 collection and collab with contemporary art photographer Todd Hido. Hosted in New York City, some of fashion’s elite came to show their support for the designer, who looked ah-mazing in a form-fitting black dress from her Spring 2013 collection, including socialite Olivia Palermo, model and street style star Hanne Gaby Odiele, Tabitha Simmons and Garance Doré.

Last night, many of our favourite actresses like Cate Blanchett and Eva Longoria attended the Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards where they were honoured for their outstanding career achievements in the film industry. One of the biggest winners (and best dressed) of the night was Kerry Washington who made her first red carpet appearance since the birth of her baby girl. It was no surprise to see the Scandal star topping our best-dressed list already showing off her curves in an eye-catching outfit, but it was the 2014 Women In Film Max Mara Face of the Future award recipient Rose Byrne who really got heads turning shimmering in a metallic silver jumpsuit.

Colin Firth Spy Movie Inspires Mr Porter Clothing Line

Colin Firth Spy Movie Inspires Mr Porter Clothing Line (Exclusive)
When you think about it, the best dressed men in movies have been spies or gentleman criminals: think James Bond (both the Sean Connery and Daniel Craig versions) and Thomas Crowne (Steve McQueen and Pierce Brosnan, of course), both resplendent in ultra masculine tailoring and fabrics. These are the screen's icons of elegant masculinity.
But suits, shirts, shoes and ties like the ones worn by these iconic male action figures have been unaffordable - and unattainable - to the everyday man. Until now.
Get ready, gentleman (and ladies who love them): the Kingsman collection will launch on MrPorter.com -- Net-a-Porter's dapper male outpost --in mid September, and the price range for Savile-Row-style suiting will start at a $1,750 price point.
While lots of films have done clothing or jewelry or product tie-ins after the fact - this is the first time that the idea for a full collection of clothing was conceived while the film was being conceived - and its costume designer, Arianne Phillips (A Single Man, W.E., Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway, and Madonna's stylist), created the sleek, double breasted suits for stars Colin Firth, Michael Caine and the rest of the cast with commerciality in mind.
"And all of it is made in Britain," Phillips says, fresh off her 2014 Tony nomination for Best Costume Design of a Musical.
It all started in the brain of 43-year-old director/writer Matthew Vaughn (Kiss-Ass, X-Men: First Class). He credits the Kingsman collection to "selfishness" -- his own.
"To be blunt, there aren't that many clothing options for men like me, in their forties. Suits are cut super skinny and tight, or they're very traditional," he tells THR. "I realized - there's no mens' line smack dab in the middle."
Vaughn, who admits he's a "closet clothes guy" (and why wouldn't he be when his wife is supermodel Claudia Schiffer?), likens suits to "modern armor."
So, he rang up his old friend Natalie Massenet, a former editor of British fashion magazines and founder of the Net-a-porter empire. He asked if she liked the idea of launching an entire new mens' collection on MrPorter.com - straight from the movie's costumes. She said yes immediately, according to Vaughn.
"I knew the clothes had to really serve the plot -- and they do in our film," he says. "An elite secret group of gentleman spies camouflage their identity by holding meetings in a Savile Row tailor's shop. It's not like the clothes are an added benefit or not utterly functional to the story. They are a big part of the story. Colin is grooming a young man to be the next gentleman spy -- and in this case, the clothes do make the man."
Toby Bateman, global buying director for MrPorter.com, thought of the Kingsman collection as "the perfect new take on film/fashion merchandising."
"Men are influenced by film icons. They're quite fussy - and in this collection, we have the suits, trousers, jackets, overcoats, eyewear, slippers, robes, shirts, ties - everything from British mills and even outside of Arianne's designs, all the brands are traditional British ones for gentlemen."
Vaughn conceived the Kingsman suits as double breasted, not traditionally tailored and cut like these are (Firth worked out for six months to be in top gentleman spy fighting shape).
"I was sick of those skinny eighties-style suits," Vaughn says with a laugh. "I prefer the forties."
But that added its own challenges.
"It was more of a challenge to make them fit and flattering," says Phillips. "A British silhouette is different from an Italian one in suiting. It's all about structure."
"This is the first one that really spoke to me - because it's straight story telling. The costumes had to serve the film first, but also were designed as a collection while we were creating them," she says. "I'm hopeful this will resonate on a global scale - this is the first project and collection of its kind. A lot of time movie merchandising doesn't involve the costume designer - but this is so much more than movie merchandising."
Along with Phillips' suits, jackets, trousers and more, the Kingsman collection will also include George Cleverley footwear (also featured in the film), Turnbull & Asser shirts, Drakes' ties, Cutler & Gross eyewear, Bremont timepieces and Mackintosh outwear.
The Kingsman collection will continue after the film has finished its theatrical run. Phillips is currently planning a spring 2015 collection and this is launching the idea of it becoming a permanent new brand. Meanwhile, the trailer for Kingsman: The Secret Service is so fun, fast and beautiful to look at - a sequel is already in the works.

Everything we do, we do for the young

Everything we do, we do for the young: Queen makes forceful and personal speech after day of emotion and frantic diplomacy at 70th anniversary of D-Day
They had sworn their loyalty to her father. They risked their necks in his name, too. There was only one guest of honour they all really wanted to see yesterday. And her bow to them and to their fallen comrades said it all.
If the protocol and the crowd control fell short (to be honest, at times it fell apart), it certainly didn’t bother the Queen as she was thronged by her father’s men yesterday.
And after a day of emotion, frantic diplomacy – enlivened by the presence of both the Russian and Ukrainian leaders – and some delightfully barmy French theatricals, the 70th anniversary of D-Day concluded last night with a forceful and personal speech from the Queen.
The true measure of all our actions is how long the good in them lasts,’ she declared. ‘Each year has compounded in Europe the benefits of our victory in the Second World War. Seen in that light, those heroic deeds will stand out as much in 700 years as they do after 70.’
Noting ‘the joy of becoming a great-grandmother’, the 88-year-old Queen added a telling sentiment that will, no doubt, be much quoted by future historians: ‘Everything we do, we do for the young.’
To Normandy’s beaches had come the grandest gathering of world leaders since the London Olympics. It included seven monarchs and ten presidents, assorted prime ministers and cheeses of great magnitude from a couple of dozen governments and armed forces.
Guests: French Prime Minister Manuel Valls and his wife Anne Gravoin stop for photographs on the red carpet
Yet the true stars of the show were those who had been on these very sands 70 years ago this very dawn.
They ‘marched’ through the streets of Bayeux, feted by flag-waving children and cries of ‘Merci’ as they made their way to Normandy’s largest Commonwealth cemetery.
There, they were joined by the one head of state who could well recall every moment of that longest day; who served in uniform; who heard her father broadcast to the nation that night; and who has always had a distinguished war veteran at her side – as he was yesterday.
The arrival of the Queen and Prince Philip was heralded by a full quartet from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight – two Spitfires, a Dakota and the mighty Lancaster.
The sound of their Merlin engines and the sight of the Monarch, unmissable in bright green, galvanised several old chaps up and out of their wheelchairs.
Helpers sprung into action. They were struggling to their feet again as the bugle sounded the Last Post and the Queen laid the first of many wreaths, followed by the Prince of Wales, the Prime Ministers of Britain, Australia and France and the Governor-General of New Zealand.
And once the formalities were over, everyone wanted to have a word with the Sovereign.
‘My Dad’s meeting the Queen!’ shouted a lady from Southend charging through the crowd with a mobile phone. Don Sheppard, of the Southend branch of the Normandy vets, was indeed having a word.
It was fabulously French. Black-clad dancers bounced on stage depicting the Nazi conquest while pyrotechnics did the rest.
Eventually, they were replaced by D-Day dancers plus much waving of flags. Finally, all the veterans took a bow, to thunderous applause.
The Queen’s state visit to France continues this morning. Last night, she was the guest of honour at an Elysee Palace banquet.
The day, she said, had left her filled ‘with sorrow and regret, remembering the loss of so many fine young soldiers, sailors and airmen; with pride, at the sheer courage of the men who stormed those beaches, embodied in the veterans among us; and with thankfulness’.
D-Day, she observed, reminded us of a great truth: ‘We should weigh our actions not by immediate acclaim, but by their benefit for future generations.’

Lupita Nyong’o’s CFDA Awards Jumpsuit: Lovely Or Too Loud?

Lupita Nyong’o 31, appeared on the red carpet on June 2 in New York City, wearing a Suno jumpsuit, Sophia Webster shoes and Jennifer Fisher earrings as she arrived at the 2014 CFDA Awards at Lincoln Center. Lupita’s outfit was definitely a DARING one and full of vibrant colors, however, was it totally fierce or a fashion flop? What did you think of Lupita’s red carpet look?
Lupita Nyong’o’s CFDA Awards Outfit:
Lupita definitely wore a VIBRANT ensemble on the red carpet for the award show, where the star was on hand to serve as a presenter for the occasion.
She rocked an abundance of colors, (from her blue eye shadow to bright red pumps), but was it a little too much?
I think Lupita definitely could have toned the outfit down a bit — especially because it was such a formal affair! That being said, I most admit that I loved the blue-eye shadow — it definitely made her eyes pop!
I’m not sure if it was her red pumps or the silhouette that seemed so distracting — maybe it was the combination. There was a lot going on with this look and the outfit was a bit busy in my book.
Lupita Nyong’o’s Jumpsuit:
Overall, this definitely was a bold look on the red carpet. While Lupita looks absolutely beautiful, the outfit is just not our favorite. The pattern itself is a bit too busy.
Even if you don’t love the look you have to applaud Lupita for taking risks on the red carpet. She is not afraid to dress out of the box and does not like to play it safe — and we love how she keeps it interesting with her fashion choices!
