Cate Blanchett, Amy Adams fashion champs at Critics' Choice Awards



Thursday was a busy day for movie mavens.

Stars gathered for the Critics' Choice Movie Awards, and some of the actors who won there also were winners when it came to fashion — among them Cate Blanchett, Amy Adams, Lupita Nyong'o and Jared Leto, Los Angeles Times fashion critic Booth Moore says.
Earlier in the day, film and fashion intersected in the Oscar nominations for costume design. The academy gave a nod to period dramas, our Adam Tschorn reports.

"American Hustle" and "Gravity" led the pack in Oscar nominations in a season when the academy is noting a generational shift, writes film critic Kenneth Turan.
